Most times after a fracture is set into place, children are able to heal their fractures well, however sometimes they do not heal completely. In these cases a surgeon will use a bone stimulator, which is a device placed outside the skin to help bone healing. A bone stimulator may use magnets or ultrasound. These may be used if bone is slow to heal after an injury or surgery.
