Question:

I had mhe osteochondroma. My right side is affected by it mainly right hand which is shorter than my left hand. I already had got hand surgery. My question is - Is this disorder heredity or not? How much possibility my kids get this disease from me?

Answer:

Multiple hereditary exostosis, or MHE, is a genetic disorder and is hereditary. Someone who has MHE has a 50% chance of passing it along to their children.

Two great resources are the osteochondroma page on POSNA (https://orthokids.org/Condition/Osteochondroma) and the MHE research foundation (https://www.mherf.org/about-mhe).
